Tagliatelle with Crab at The NoMad
Every once in awhile I order a dish that really knocks my socks off. This happened recently at The NoMad in New York City. It's listed as an appetizer on the menu, but you can order it as an entree as well which arrives in a larger portion size. The restaurant serves contemporary American fare, and the tagliatelle sounded simple yet sophisticated, which was perfect since I had just gotten over being sick and didn't want to indulge in anything too extreme. The dish was a tagliatelle with king crab, meyer lemon, and black pepper. It arrived at the table plated beautifully, and I immediately knew I had made the right choice.
The tagliatelle was light, with lovely citrus notes, and meaty pieces of crab that added depth to the pasta. It was a memorable entree, and a "must order" at The NoMad. Located in Chelsea within the swanky NoMad Hotel, the restaurant is actually known for their whole roasted chicken for two, but don't be afraid to order the tagliatelle as a starter to ensure you get to experience this delicious dish.
